Can you help me pick a dress for DD for Christmas, please?
I'm so torn. She's a blondie with blue eyes (I posted pics of her as a bumble bee today ) and I really don't dress her in red, usually in greens & blues, purple, pink, etc. but for the
#1 This one's from Gymboree. It's really nice, I LOVE the smocking & Peter Pan collar, the embroidery and the fact that it's a muted red not a bright red. It's 100% silk duppioni, so it has that wrinkly look that I'm not sure I love. But it's a really cute dress!
#2 This one's from Gap, another red one. It's cute, I like the style and I love polka dots but I feel like she wears so many polka dot outfits already. But it's corduroy and cozy...I'd put a white shirt underneath with white tights.
#3 LOVE this color on DD, but it's obviously not "christmas-y"
#4 Or this one, I can't tell if it's green or brown. I'd love it if it was a dark green, but if I can't tell what color it is in this pic, even if it's green, how would it look in photos??
Thanks!!!!!! Pressing decisions, I know
ETA: We don't have a super-formal Christmas, but a nicely-dressed one.

Well, how fancy do you need her to be? The last one (IMO) is fanicer than the others.
I really, really like the first one and I think it would look lovely on DD. I don't like the whole jumper/sleeveles (#2) for the holidays and the third is ok. But not the best one
Did that help?

Yes, you definitely helped, thank you!!
Funny, before I read your post I did the ETA and how dressy the holiday is. Great minds You're right, #4 looks pretty dressy!

OK I love the blue dress!!!!!!!! It's so Winter Wonderland-y and I think it would look gorgeous on your DD with her hair/eyes..
If you want to go more traditional with a red - I would go with #1. It's cute!
I don't like #2 very much... it almost seems like a spring dress to me. I know you would put something underneath it and it's corduroy, but still it's my least favorite in the bunch..
And 4 is adorable (it does look brown to me, not green) but yes it seems very dressy!
(sorry so long.. I'm a boy mommy and I live vicariously though all the girl dressy-dress posts )

I really love 1 and 2-I had not seen the polka dot one before, I may be getting that for Christmas day (she has another Gymboree one, very similar to the one you posted, for Christmas eve).

My DD has the same coloring and she really does not look good in red- probably the only color. I would pick the pale blue one- not as festive but she would look gorgeous in it.

I love the 2nd one! I think it would be so cute with a white, long sleeve, peter-pan collar shirt. I also like that you could put it on her for occasions OTHER than Christmas!
I saw the first one in person at Gymboree, and personally, I am not a big fan of the material. I really like the pale-colored one, but I just thought a red dress would be nicer for Christmas (although this one really is SO cute!) The last one is very fancy for what I think you're looking for.
(BTW - haven't you bought a few dresses already!? )

Re: Can you help me pick a dress for DD for Christmas, please?
Hmm I might go with #4 which is really nice (it is brown I saw it in the store).
Did you see the red plaid dress that they had at gymboree I saw that one in person and it was really cute.
I really like the first one - but the silk duponi would give me pause - I almost bought DD a forest green dress from strasburg children in that material but I was afraid it would show every little stain - (DD is teething a lot so there is drool...lol, spills of water from her sippy, etc I was afraid it would look filthy after a while).
While I like 3 and it would look gorgeous on your DD it doesn't say christmas to me (but I'm big on greens, reds etc for christmas so this is just a personal opinion not one you should listen to if you like it).
Number 2 is nice and I really love it but seems more everyday- it isn't as dressy as the others so if you looking to dress up I would pick something else.

I love #3 - blue is my favorite holiday color. Plus its wintery so you can put it on her again.
I had that outfit (similar) last year - I got the matching tights and pink ballet shoes...........it was a hit

Re: Can you help me pick a dress for DD for Christmas, please?
I LOVE the light blue! Its wintery and very pretty - and you can use it again which is always a plus! I think with some snowfake print tights and black patent leather shoes it would be perfect!
I do think that #4 is brown, atleast in that pic it doesnt look green to me at all.
I am usually one to put DD in red just because its "christmasy" but I bought her a black and ivory dress this year.

Re: Can you help me pick a dress for DD for Christmas, please?
Thanks everyone. I really still have no idea. I have already purchased #1 and #2, but have the receipts right with them to return any unused ones
I'm in love with the blue one, I love it more & more. It's definitely more "her" than a red one.
I definitely don't love the material of #1, although I love the style of the dress a lot.
Still need to make decisions, ugh! I'm so bad at this
Oh, this is what she's wearing for her Christmas pics/cards and probably for Christmas Eve, if that matters She's in love with puppies, so it's perfect, it's a cute sweater dress:
ETA: It's so funny that I'm the only one that thought #4 was green

Re: Can you help me pick a dress for DD for Christmas, please?
The last dress is a chocolate brown and it's cute. I think for C she would look gorgeous in anything but the light blue one stood out to me. I think because of her coloring. I also like the smocked one and think that would look equally as nice because it is a deeper red. Check out Crazy 8, they have a deep red sweater dress that is so cute if you want another option.

1, 3 and 4 are all adorable and I think 'dressy' - I don't really think #2 is very dressy .......I LOVE the blue one and it's totally Christmas - y !!
And BTW, I'm light skinned and blonde with light eyes and red is my best color!!! Your DD would look beatiful in red !!
