Can you ladies help me come up with a nickname for DS?
The more I actually SAY his name, the more I wish it was "cute" or one of the unique names that are popular.
we are naming him after my grandpa and DH grandpa but both names are very traditional, somewhat "old" so there is no changing the actual name. His first name is already short...Paul and I don't want to call him Paulie.
If you want the middle name, I'll FM it to you--don't want someone stealing his whole name.

The middle name could be shortened, but I don't like that as a name/nickname either and the initials don't work either.

my name is Paulette
People called me Paulettey so I assume the nickname would end up paulie. But what about even feature wise... I call Gillian " My bubba girl" bc she has the chubbiest cheeks.

you say now that you wont call him paulie but you might wind up doing just that!
I said the same thing about my son's name which is also traditional,I always said i wouldnt add the "y" to it, but now thats all we call him.
(i would say the name but dont want someone stealing it) lol just kidding!

I call my grandson everything but his name (Ryan). Mostly, I just call him my "little man" because he is.

Its hard to give you suggestions with only half the info. Dont you live out of state? Why would you care if someone from an internet site "steals" your name. IMO thats just silly. I am sure there is someone out there with that name already.

ITA....thats just silly...
Who cares who has his name unless its like your nephew, and I doubt they would do that.
Why dont you change the name though if your not liking it 100% ? Nows the time..LOL

We call Joseph "little man". My sister calls her son "Boots" & her daughter "Scooter". She's also nicknamed our nephew "Snoopy".
I like the "P" initial...or you can make a variation of your last name.

I totally agree. how can we help you with a nickname if you dont like Paulie, but we have nothing else to work with 
and why do you even need to think of a nickname? I would think they are something that comes up on their own, kwim? you cant predict or plan a nickname.. (maybe thats just my opinion)

yeah, i'm not understanding the whole "don't want someone stealing his whole name" thing -  imo, that's kinda silly
in any event, i agree with the other ladies and say wait until he's born. I'm sure you'll find your own special term of endearment for him.

I agree. Nicknames just kind of come to you. Christopher has probably had a good 20 nicknames over the course of his short little life so far. Mr. Baby is the only one that has really stuck. Kaylee has a bunch already; she's cookie (just like Jaidyn!), kumquat, pancake, dumpling (me with the food nicknames!), and miss pants.
