Can you please help me choose a breast pump??
Im sorry i keep asking the questions on this board but im stuck on this one. I am stuck between these 2 breast pumps and was wondering which one you guys think would be better. They both got great reviews from the Target wesbite.
The first one is the Lasinoh Manual Breast Pump and the 2nd is the Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump
ETA: I know this might be a dumb question---but how to you use a manual breast pump....would it just make sore sense to get an electric? Im just trying to save a little money. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Can you please help me choose a breast pump??
For me, the time and energy needed to manually pump made the electric a necessity for me. I think a lot depends on if you are going to be away from the baby (like at work) or if you want to also bottle feed. I went back to work after 3 months and pumped enough for the baby to eat when I was gone and during trips out of the house when I wasn't comfortable BFing. My cousin had a manual pump, but she is a SAHM and rarely fed the baby bottles. I think a lot depends on your needs.

With manual, you have to squeeze the lever to get out the milk. You could be doing that for up to 1/2 hour per side I have the Medela Pump in Style Advance and I love it (well, as much as someone could love a breastpump )

I will be a SAHM, thankfully. If you ladies think an electricone is better---can you recommend one that isn't extremely expensive?

I used Avent. Worked great for me.
Are you looking for a pump for occasional use or daily use?
They make a single electric and a double electric. The single would be for the occasional pump if you are going out. The double is better if you are pumping daily as pumping both at once will boost your supply.

Re: Can you please help me choose a breast pump??
I had the Medela one you posted. They gave it to me in the hospital. I used it on and off for the first few week. At 4 weeks PP, I HAD TO get an electric pump. I just waited that long to see if BF would work for me. Since I was trying to build a supply of BM, I was BFing and pumping.
I say see how BFing goes. But if you are going to pump, you HAVE TO get an electric pump. For your sake and sanity!

Don't bother with a manual. TRUST ME.
If you plan on pumping, I would definitely invest in a good electric one.
I loved my Medela

Re: Can you please help me choose a breast pump??
I am a SAHM as well, and I still needed an electric----I just didn't have the time to sit and pump w/ a manual as my supply was never great so it took a while even with the electric double. I have the Ameda Purely Yours which was no where near as much as the medela and i was very happy with it
