Can you recommend a fancy ski resport upstate
Hi,
My coworker really needs to impress his neglected wife who loves to ski. I dont ski but I want to help by sugessting some really nice and romantic places- any suggestions??
It needs to be local ( in driving distance ) he's palnning a long weekend

Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid (About a 5 hour drive)

mohonk mountain is very nice, but i am not sure about the skiing.

While not fancy, I love Killington and Mt. Snow. An avid skier would pick Killington over Snow but I like the homey atmosphere of Snow.

I second Mt. Snow. Its in Vermont. Its definitely driving distance (about 4 hours). Dh and I went there for New Years a few years ago. IT was very nice.
