Can you recommend a "holistic" ob/gyn or midwife in Nassau?
I live in Valley Stream.
Wondering if anyone knows of a good midwife or ob/gyn who practices more "holistically" --
meaning, isn't going to push for inducement, c-section (I know midwives don't do c-sections), etc.
and encourages / guides nutrition, exercise, chiropractic, meditation, other alternate types of care.
(Not pregnant yet, just planning ahead).

I would recommend Dr. Hanauer in Garden City. She is very laid back.
I know some people like a group with Midwives in Suffork but I don't remember their name and I think it's too far for you.

Just make sure you have a back up plan, Carrie Ann, just in case. You dont want someone who is going to push inducing or C-Sections (by the way - you will definitely want to go to Bradley classes!)
But - I needed to be induced for the safety of my baby... as well as have a csection for the same reason.... Just keep that in mind!!!

Very true! Be open minded. It does not always work as planned.

Yes, totally good advice, Liza. I would certainly do whatever's necessary for safety.
I just want to avoid someone who's too gung-ho on the inducement/c-section thing. It seems so frequent these days.
What are Bradley classes? Actually, I'll google it. Thanks for mentioning it!

Kelly, you're so cute!!!
Nah, we're not there yet. But it's time for my annual exam, so I thought I might as well start looking around for a new doc!
