Aaron’s and RentACenter do rent-to-own air conditioners...maybe they have short term rentals?

They are not terribly expensive to buy. You'll probably wind up spending more time and money trying to rent one than if you just buy one. We bought ours at Costco. I saw a bunch on sale last night at PC Richards.

Go to target or bed bath and beyond and buy a vornado fan. If you can, get the whole house version. It is about $30 to $50 but it works very well. Kohl's has it for 30.

Yes, I meant the one on wheels.
It is for an outdoor BBQ we are attendng tomorrow; and wanted to bring one. LOL
I just might head over to Kohls then and get the Vornado.

That's not going to work. You need a defined airspace (like in rooms) for it to circulate.

It's supposed to be considerably cooler tomorrow. Are you sure you need one for 80 degrees?

She wrote that reply on Saturday so the BBQ she wanted it for was on Sunday. Which was brutal.
But I'm still confused- OP, you wanted to air condition the outdoors??

It would've been good enough.
Not the most efficient way; but it would have worked. Couldn't find an industrial one in time; so we didn't bring one. Every rental place was sold out of them for this weekend.
There are portable A/C's that can be used for outdoors....(semi-small areas). Even if you had to stand nearby; it's "cool" air that the outdoors was completely lacking yesterday.
I wasn't looking to cool the whole backyard.....
