Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
This isn't for me - I'm asking for SecretBabyMaker. She wants to start pricing around for someone to come in sand and poly the hardwood floors.
Pls. recommend who you used and if you were happy with their work.
Thanks!

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
I called about 10 people - one called us back and gave us a ridiculous quote! ($3500 to refinish 300 sq. ft. and install new oak for 120 sq. ft.)

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
I had my whole first floor done in September by Harris Floors. They did a fantastic job - we still get compliments. My friend is actually having them come do her floors tomorrow. We paid $1.35 per square foot. Their number is 516-293-0175.

I have a great company. Quality Floor Scraping. The number is 516-351-8534. They were very affordable and they did above and beyond.

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
I used someone my dad knows. He refinished the stairs going up, the landing and 3 bedrooms and it was I think $1000. He charges $2 a square foot and the same to install. I recommended him to someone and he was very happy with his work. He uses a dustless sander system and some type of poly that is not water based so they need to leave the house for about 3 days but let me tell you the floors last and keep their shine. My godmother used him about 13 years ago and her floors still look great.

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
we used Aliperti (in Huntington). They did everything - removed and disposed of carpet, pulled up slate, sanded, stained, sealed. They did a great job.

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
We got several estimates and ended up with Main Street Carpet in Sayville. No problems and good price.

Re: Can you recommend your hardwood floor person
we just re-finished our entire house...we used Tom- American Floor Refinishing. His number is 261 8300.
His work was GREAT! He stained our oak downstairs, as well as the stairway, then put on 3 poly and he sealed the pine upstairs and put on 2 coats of poly... He will come back to put on the third after we are done with the work upstairs...My family has used him in the past as well.
