Can you recommend your motoroized thomas train set and table? Tracks only was a big fail!

DH had the idea of getting a train set and putting it on top of our coffee table. It was a big fail. DS gets frustrated because the tracks keep falling apart. To make things worse, I had bought a bunch of metal trains from Marshall's and they don't even fit on the thomas wooden tracks.

Now we're looking for a real train table with real train tracks. We also want one that is motorized. We went to FAO Schwartz this weekend and their sales associates were not helpful at all. They don't even carry train tables and he couldn't help us with any questions.

Could you please recommend your motoroized thomas train set and table?

Could you recommend a store that has sales people who are knowledgeable and could answer our questions?

We will be in LI thanksgiving weekend so we will be able to drive around. We're so limited being in Manhattan.

Why don't you get the geotrax? It's for age 2-7. There is a child remote control to move the train.

this is the newest Thomas motorized train and its getting really good reviews.

I don't know about a motorized set. DS has a trackmaster set and it is harder to put together than the wood.
I like the Thomas grow with me table at toys r us. One side has track grooves in the wood so you don't need to put tracks on it.
