Can you share with me your 11 months old's menu?
DD is not liking baby food so much anymore, and wants to eat whatever we're eating. I do give her grown up food, but not all are acceptable (sometimes too salty or oil, etc...) I need ideas pls TIA

Re: Can you share with me your 11 months old's menu?
She's been eating:
- applesauce, both storebought or homemade - banana - diced up canned fruit (the kind in their own juice) - mashed sweet potato - mashed potato - cooked peas - cooked diced up carrots - pastina or tiny pasta like ditalini - cooked shredded up chicken - meatloaf - scrambled egg - pancakes - cheese - yogurt
There are other things we've tried once or twice with her but these are the real staples of her diet. Honestly we like a lot of food that is either spicy or maybe oily or otherwise not really appropriate for a baby (salad for example) so I'm ok with her not eating "what we eat". I will make separate stuff for her. You can cook and freeze stuff like the chicken, meatloaf or pancakes. And stuff like scrambled egg, peas, carrots etc are quick to make even if making a different meal for the rest of the family.
She still eats some baby food jars, as well as the baby oatmeal or rice cereal. I plan to phase those out over the next few months.

I cook separately for my kids and try to include carb protein and veg+fruit or yogurt for dessert
This is a sample of what they eat:
Breakfast waffles, french toast stix or cin raisin mini bagel with soy creamm cheese fruit-bananna, grapes, cherries, pear, apple, mango etc veggie sausage link yogurt
Lunch Lean meat-pork, chicken, or mini meatloafs I make. I buy all my meat at Whole Foods because I like their standards. veggie-I usually buy frozen organic and cook a few every few days-peas, lima beans, green beans, asparagus etc sweet potato or regular potato, organic polenta, today they are having pasta because I have to go shopping
Dinner is a variation of lunch. I also give them beans. One of my sons is dairy allergic which is why I have soy products.

DRmom, I don't want to hijack this post, but thank you... you just gave me at least 3 new ideas for things I can try with my DD-- beans, polenta (yum) and asparagus. We eat a lot of those items already so I tend to have them in the house!

How do you prepare the polenta? I have a "log" of it in my fridge to make for DD, but I am not sure how to prepare it. Do you serve it with anything eise?

I just cut of a couple of slices, chop into bite size pieces and microwave for 20 minutes. I buy the italian seasoned one. I just recently started serving it with cut up cherry tomatoes which R loves but D doesn't seem to like tomato
ETA-I meant 20 SECONDS!~
