Can you stand another vacation question? Sesame Place or Dutch Wonderland?
So DH is determined to plan a trip for us for the end of the summer. Last year we had some bad sleep problems and so I was hesitant about traveling and staying overnight. This year DD is a year older and much better and a little more mature.
So having never gone to any amusement park, we are debating between Dutch Wonderland and Sesame Place.
FYI, DD is 2.5 year old.
Thanks!

I assume you are taking me too?
We did Lancaster last year and from a vacation standpoint there is more to do. Farms, Ammish tours, outlets etc. Sabrina is certainly old enough to enjoy Dutch Wonderland.
We really wanted to do Sesame Place, but kept us close to home Is Sabrina a huge Sesame fan that she would enjoy the characters etc? I still want to try for SP at some point, hopefully while Connor still likes Elmo!

by FARRR I would choose DW ! * you can do so much more around that area too. (you can also go to hershey park) *DW is a "kids only" kinda park, the park revolves around the little ones. its ONLY kid rides (well one or 2 that an adult can go on with) - they do have a huge water slide for parents (and older kids) to go on, lol and a GREAT "Water park" section.
At sesame, me personally, I felt it was wayyy too much geared for an older crowd, lots of water rides (its basically a water park) with cute shows and a parade for the little ones. we couldnt even stand in the pool with my son without being run down by teens. (this was just my experience).
Dutch wonderland is all about the kids. (i have photos I can email you of DW if you want to get an idea)
I had completely different experiences at each. have never been back to SP and have been back to DW every yr, making a 2-4 day trip out of it (combined with hershey).
i see that many have had great experiences at sesame, so I dont want to discourage you from it, but thats my story.
also having never gone to an amusement park, Sesame place may be overwhelming if you encounter the crowds that I did. (it didnt phase us, but it turned us of, we had an 18m old at the time) we cancelled our 2nd hotel stay and went home the next morning. regardless of their "Free 2nd day park ticket".
thats another point, from what I was told the area that SP is in, is no great area to stay in. We stayed at a nice hotel, but there's no town in the area that's a "nice place to stay".
you can even do SP one day and come home at night, and make DW / HP a combo trip in itself. so you can see all the parks.

Re: Can you stand another vacation question? Sesame Place or Dutch Wonderland?
Thanks for the input and I would love some more.
DD currently watches Sesame Street every morning and she really enjoys it. We are looking for a quick getaway. We don't necessarily need a lot to do around us. We just need someplace appropriate for the age.
Thanks!
