Can you use a Simon Gift Card on-line?

Can you use a Simon Gift Card on-line?
Ok, so I read the directions for using a Simon Gift Card and it SEEMS like I can use it on-line as long as I register the card on their website. The card says VISA on it. I tried using it to buy something and the website denied me.
Has anyone ever used one of these gift cards on-line?

i used one on ebay just a few days ago and had no problem at all.
that's strange?
just be sure the balance is greater than your total purchase...

Ohh... is that why? I bought something that was more expensive than my g/c. I thought I could just put the remainder of the balance on my cc. Oh well....
