Worth it or NO WAY?
I am always cold, we have a puppy so I will be walking him all winter...I want something warm but I cant justify spending so much if it is not worth it....

Re: Canada Goose
I feel like unless you are doing an expedition at the South Pole or the Arctic circle, you don't need the kind of warmth that warrants a price tag like that.
Look for down coats with the highest fill. I got one from Lands End that had 850 fill- higher than the Northface ones that everyone raves about- for a lot less money too.
850 fill is super warm and probably all you would need for a NY winter.

I have a Lands End coat as well and it's great for winters (and I commute via train to NYC so I spend a lot of time outside).

My aunt is a professor and has to walk across campus from her car. She has a full-length one and likes it better than any other because she said it's thinner and lighter than most, and it lasts forever.

I personally wouldn't buy it because of the price tag; they are nice though.

Re: Canada Goose
My DH and I both have one and love it! They keep you so warm. I recommend checking out all the styles because they all have a different look and fit. It's $$ but I'm glad I have it.

thanks! I know they are super expensive but every year I find myself getting a new coat. I kind of want to invest in one I will have basically for years and that will keep me warm

There are many coats that will last that are a lot cheaper. Look into the Lands End, Northface, etc You don't have to spend that kind of money IMO

They're so nice. I'd try and get it when Bloomingdales has one of their powerpoints promos. If you're a Bloomingdales loyalists and they're running one of those events (they do it frequently) you can get something like $100 in reward money. Just a tip May as well get it than not.
It costs nothing to become a loyalist, in case you have no idea what I'm talking about.
