WALDENBURG, Arkansas (AP) -- Randy Wooten figured he would get at least one vote in his bid for mayor of this town of 80 people -- even if it was just his own.
He did not. Now he has to decide whether to file a formal protest.

I'm concerned here. Why is this listed as 'offbeat news'? Is this supposed to be funny, or amusing? How many places did this happen at, but nobody noticed? Will someone notice 2 years from now when its time to vote for the president?
The fact that the media is burying this is horrible...

that is scary... No hanging chads, but certainly not fool proof. You would think a democractic nation would come up with a way to capture true and valid votes.

why would it be buried as off beat news ?
this should be a major issue. shows how off voting can be.

It's NOT. They need paper verification, along with some type of picture voter ID card.
It's really sad that we're trying to implant democracy into other countries while we can't figure out how to hold a honest election.
