Can't believe it

Hi Iam afraid I am joining this board. I had my BFP Thanksgiving and had had low beta's but doubling and now both my progeserone and beta have started to drop!! I am still in shock!

MY RE basically told me it's an abnormal pregnancy. I was wondering if you decided btween natural m/c or d and c? MY dr prefers me to do natural. besides being so dissapointed I can't imagine knwoing now that I will mc and could be anyday over the next two weeks.. do you peopel really walk around like this?

I am so appreciative of your advice and support

I'm so sorry Rebecca! I am here if you neet to chat.

You will get so much support from this board and we are all here if you need to chat.

I decided to take the medicine at home, so I would be able to rest in the comfort of my home. I was afraid to wait for it to naturally happen and not know which day it would begin.

A think there is a good mix of girls on her some who took misoprostrol, or D&C and some naturally. You def will get a good idea of what everyone was comfortable with.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Chat Icon Chat Icon If you ever need to talk just FM me, as I went through the same exact thing you did.

I was told I would be miscarrying soon, but I had hoped they were wrong, then was told my numbers were better etc. Such a roller coaster. I remember playing with my son and all of a sudden felt wet ((sorry tmi)), ran to the bathroom and was bleeding very bad. I bled for about 4 days. I didn't ovulate the month after this, but did the following month.

It was very hard for me to go through this as my husband was at work and I had my son who was only about 7-8 months looking at me, probably wondering why I was hysterically crying.

It was a very emotional time for me, but I do want to say that I am 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so you will get pregnant again Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Can't believe it

so sorry to hear about your loss. The girls here are wonderful. I had a D&C b/c my dr. suggested it. I was 11.5 weeks but the baby had only made it to 9.5. The process wasn't too bad more emotional than anything else. I had to stay home for two days. I bled for almost a week but it wasn't too heavy after the first two-three days. I was also super tired and weak for a bit. Af came two weeks later and it took me four cycles to get a BFP (my cycles are short). Re: Can't believe it

I sort of went through a similar thing, but in the end, it was out of my hands. I discovered, upon my 1st prenatal visit, that my pregnancy was not viable. My doctor had me come back a week later to confirm the bad news. At that point (which was 9 weeks), I scheduled my D&C. for the following week, but I ended up getting a mild stomach virus (at just under 10 weeks), which caused me to reschedule. In that time frame, I began to miscarry naturally.

I called my doctor when it all was going down and she called in a prescription for cytotec which I took as a suppository. If you go this route do NOT read the internet. I did and almost died! However, I followed my doctor's orders, took the medicine and it was fine. Hardly any pain.

But yeah, I did "walk around" for a while knowing I was pregnant...but not, KWIM? Awful feeling. I was so overjoyed to end it naturally though. I was petrified of general anaesthesia. If push came to shove though, I would have done the D&C, no problem.

Good luck to you. I know...it SUCKS! And that's putting it mildly, of course. Hang in there...

Re: Can't believe it

First of all, I am so sorry you are going though this.

My pregnancy was not "viable" even though I had no cramping or bleeding. I opted for the d&c under the suggestion of my doctor. I just couldn't stand waiting for the miscarriage to happen. I was also worried I would not be able to handle physically seeing it happen. Chat Icon

oh man - lots of hugs to you in this difficult time. I've been there - we all have. Please come to us any time you need to talk, vent, or whatever.

How far along are you? For me, I m/c both pregnancies before 6 weeks and was able to do it naturally. Really, it was just like any period (maybe just a little heavier). So it was only natural to just do it that way.

I'm SO sorry Rebecca. Everyone here is awesome for support. I had a natural miscarriage at just about five weeks. I didn't have any decisions to make though, it just happened. My doctor told me that when I started bleeding he would have preferred me to go to the hospital for a d & but I didn't ask why since he told me after the fact.

Whatever you decide it really sucks and I'm so sorry. Chat Icon

Re: Can't believe it

I'm so sorry. I too had a D&C. Emotionally I don't think I could handle waiting it out. It was bad enough waiting for the D&C knowing what was inside my body. We are all here to support you. The women on this board are incredible....not only now when it's happening but in the future. Many have gone on to get BFPs and that gives me a lot of hope for the future.

Im so sorry for your loss Chat Icon

I was 7 weeks when we found out things were not good. I chose to have a d&c because it was too hard for me to walk around being pregnant but really not being pregnant. I let about 10 days go by though just to see if Id start on my own and I didnt; absolutely no blood at all. I knew it would be a long process so I went for the d&c and Im glad I did.

Im so sorry again Chat Icon If you need anything or have any questions about the d&c please feel free to ask meChat Icon

Re: Can't believe it

Sooooo sorry this is happening! I just went through the same thing last month. I waited and waited but my body wouldn't do anything. I decided to do it naturally. They gave me some pills and 4 hrs. later I was cramping. Just make sure if you do decide to go naturally, that they give you a good pain killer. Tylenol with codeine s*cked for me! I threw up I was in horrible pain. Then they gave me darvocet which helped a little. Be insistant on a good pain killer. Had they given me percosets I would've probably been fine.
I was too scared to do a dnc because of scarring. I already have too mnay infertility issues and I was afraid to add to the mix. If you need anything I am here!
