Re: can't get a straight answer...
EWCM is an indication of impending ovulation but it can vary from person to person as to when you will exactly ovulate following getting EWCM. For some people, they get EWCM while ovulation, for others, it's before the actual O date.
For me, I have EWCM for two days and then on the day of my acutal ovulation, I have very little EWCM, it's more like just wet CM.
Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? It explains all of this in much greater detail.

Re: can't get a straight answer...
No problem...just remember, when you see EWCM, go have fun with the husband! It's a signal that it's your most fertile time. After you release the egg (ovulate), it's only viable for about 12-24 hours so ideally you want the sperm in there waiting when the egg is released. The EWCM is most friendly to the sperm, allowing them to last the longest time.
Good luck and lots of !
