Can't go to family reunion now!
My Dh's family is having the 1st family reunion 8/11 up on LI. They sent out emails asking when is good for everyone. Little did we know that DH can't take off at all in August. His boss denied his request off for 2 days!   We're so upset! We were really looking forward to coming up there. It's been 3 years since we've been to LI and we haven't seen family in years. Nobody has seen Caiden since he was 6 months old and no one has even met Connor. I can't believe he won't let him off. He can't take off because he works for a University (Medical School) and he has to be there when the students arrive. They come back to school around that time frame. This just SU@KS!!! They didn't tell him this ahead of time otherwise we would of told the family we can't travel in August and maybe they would of done it on a different date. Anyway, I just needed to vent. It would of been nice to see everyone! Oh well! 
ETA: Not that I care to see IL's, but the rest of his family is really nice!

So sorry your plans got crushed. Maybe they can do it earlier for next year. Bummer!
