Can't trigger...IUI timing ???s
I took Clomid days 5-9 50mg for the first time this cycle, I O on my own. I just got a call from my RE. I've been doing monitoring and we planned to trigger this afternoon with IUI tomorrow. I had one nice follicle today (right side, 27mm) and the others that were getting larger are shrinking. RE said that my hormone levels look like the follicle is going to collapse on its own (didn't get the #s b/c I was out), so we won't trigger and I'll do the IUI tomorrow morning. If the follicle is still there in the morning, then I'll have IUI tomorrow morning and again the next morning (b2b).
I can't say this surging was much of a surprise...I've had my 3rd day of EWCM and a + OPK today, which is my pattern and usually signals O tomorrow. I'm afraid I'll O too early and miss the egg! I'm getting nervous!
Do you think the timing will be good? Should DH and I BD at any time? I want him to have nice samples for the IUIs (no male factor) but I don't want to miss the egg! What do you think? Also, how long does the whole process take? THANKS!

IUI is quick less than 5 min to insert then you wait laying down for 15 min although stuidues dont show that this helps. BD often my dr said to increase the odds. good luck.

Re: Can't trigger...IUI timing ???s
Thanks for the info....since I couldn't ask on the phone before and now the office staff is gone...do they always wash the sperm? How long does that take?
I actually read a study from a good journal last night (I like looking things up on Google Scholar) that said they saw a higher PG rate in women who did not get up for 10 min. after IUI compared to those who got up immediately.

Re: Can't trigger...IUI timing ???s
My doctor told us we needed to abstain for 48 hours prior to IUI and then for 24 hours after. Which has been hard because I have no idea when I'm going to O and I've been horny as hell I think I'll get a +OPK in the next day though.
I was also told that once DH gives his sample, they have to let it sit for 30 minutes before they wash it. Then they was it twice.. once for 5 minutes and once for 2 minutes. Once they do the insemination they will have me stay put for 15 minutes.
G/L!
