cape owners- question
we went to look at a cape that is dormered in the back. Love the house but I realized that there are no windows in the front on the whole second floor. Kind of makes me nervous to go the whole night without seeing what is going on in front of the house.
is this something I will get used to, I know this probably sounds like a strange question

Re: cape owners- question
our cape has no windows in the front. but both sides have windows and our house runs long on the property. so when i look out the side window i see the front. yes, it is a bit weird but you do get used to it. our back is also dormered.

We also have no windows in the front on the second floor. You totally get used to it, imo.

Re: cape owners- question
our back is dormered and I have one doggy dormer in the front. So I do have a wndow, but honestly, the blind is down and I never look out it. So I think you should be fine.

Re: cape owners- question
We have that now - I don't like it, only because when I'm upstairs and someone comes to the door, I can't see who it is But mostly I wish we had sunlight coming in through the front upstairs. But that entire undormered area is attic space for us, so I guess you take the good with the bad
You can certainly add those doggy dormers if it really bothers you. Looks pretty from the outside too.

We can't see out the front either. It never bothered me. We're only upstairs to sleep so all the better that it's a little darker! One bedroom has a skylight for more light so it's very "open" feeling even though you can't see who's at the front door.
