Capital One credit card--requesting credit line increase

I have been with Capital One since 2003, they gave me a $200 creadit limit and 8 years later, it is STILL $200. I have asked them about it and they said they have a periodic review (at least that is what the rep said). I find it ridiculous that i am still at a $200 limit after 8 years. My account is paid off, i have not had a late payment in a over a year. In the last 8 years i can count on one hand how many times i was late.

Is there a way to request a credit line increase?

They are notorious. In 10 years with them they've upgraded me to Platinum but w/a nominal (read TINY) credit increase and I've never been late and carry a small balance. I'd get rid of it but it's my oldest line of credit. They NEVER increase it for me no matter what.

They tick me off with that also.

For the past 11 years they have only increased my limit by $600

Out of all my cards, I've had it the longest but it has the lowest limit...

I started about 6 years ago at a $300 limit and in the past when I requested limit increases I was denied. I have always paid on time and was late maybe 3x IF that. I checked my card a few months ago and they gave me a $1000 increase. I curse them everytime I call and swear I'm cancelling and never do. And now I have this.

$200 over that amount of time is ridiculous. I too have the Platinum

I started with a $1000 limit, it said pay on time for 3 months and it would increase to $1500. It did by 5th statement. My DH had a $750 limit ( opened at the same time) and it was increased to $1000 after the 3 months. We havent needed or wanted an increase. Actually, no , I'm lying, we did once request an increase to put a vacation on the card for points and it was denied. That was a while ago. We had never been late. We have been late since 1 time ever. Our interest rate went up to 19% when we were late that one time ( from 3 something percent!) .

I don't understand -- they just keep automatically upping mine. By like $500 a time!!

I was at 2,000 for years, got hte card in like 2001, they upped it in 2006, nothing since

that's why i got a 2nd credit card..with Chase.

Capital One sucks. It was my first card at 17 or 18. I had a low limit. I was responsible. never late, never carried a balance.

Years later I wanted an increase. They said no.

I asked why? I have excellent credit rating. They said it was because of the terms I signed when I first got the card. I argued that it was years ago and that is a ridiculous reason. They didn't budge until one day they gave me a 1000 limit. whoopie doo.
