car accident and GEICO
so I got into a little accident this morning. No one one hurt, and there was only damage to my car, but the damage is somewhat costly. After both contacting the family mechanic who gave me a suprisingly high estimate, I decided to go through my insurance. Long story short, the operator I was speaking to told me about "Auto Repair Express", a local mechanic that also has a rental car service on site and can send an insurance adjuster. Has anyone ever used one of these services? This is my first accident in 15 years of driving, and I don't really know what's best.
Please feel free to share your stories/experience. TIA

Re: car accident and GEICO
I got into my first accident back in July. I didn't use Geico's auto place. A friend of the family reccomended me to an auto shop and they covered my $500 deductable. I took abotu 3 weeks to fix my car. The whole front end needed to be replaced.

If you want it done quickly, easily, and if you want the work to be guaranteed by the shop and your insurance company than the Auto Repair Express shops are the way to go. They are the most reputable shops and the places need to jump through a lot of hoops to become a recommended shop... so, they are quality. HTH!
Sorry about the accident

Re: car accident and GEICO
I did usse one of the auto plpaces in their plan but that was because this is also a place my family used anyone. So if it is any comfort they don't just pick cheap or subpar places.
I'm on SI tho.

Re: car accident and GEICO
i use to work for GEICO- while I dont like them as a company.
their repair express place is good... they get your repairs done faster, and i believe are guaranteed...
The places that say they will " cover your deductible" do so by writing a higher estimate, your company pays out more- and you feel it more when the premiums get raised..

Re: car accident and GEICO
Had an accident almost 3 years ago...I had Geico and so did the other person. NOW the other person plowed into the back of my little VW Golf...and somehow when ever Geico contacted me the blame was on me...I felt they were horrible to deal with. I ended it with them shortly after that

Re: car accident and GEICO
I got hit in April (???) On my way home from work on the Friday that started Spring Break. Whooppeee.
I used Roadside in Islip through Geico. Which BTW is owned by my XH's next door neighbor. It was great. The rental was waiting for me there and my car was ready in 2 days.
HTH
