Car Crashes into the KFC in Patchogue
From the News 12 website.
Breaking News
A car has crashed into a Patchogue KFC fast-food restaurant at East Main Street and Phyllis Street. According to fire officials, the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 this morning. The sole occupant of the vehicle was seriously injured and will be airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center. Two others inside the building were shaken up, but did not suffer any major injuries. Brian Curry of the North Patchogue Fire Department says the building has partially collapsed as a result of the crash.

A woman crashed her car into a KFC restaurant in Patchogue on Wednesday, injuring herself and causing a partial collapse of the building, according to Suffolk police and a witness.
The woman lost control of her black Hyundai at about 11:30 a.m., jumped the curb and crashed into the restaurant at the corner of Phyllis Drive and East Main Street in Patchogue, said Tim Moore, the owner of TJ's Hero Shop, located next door.
The car went through the glass-covered front and caused part of the building to fall on top of the car, Moore said. Police officials said it was unclear how badly the driver was hurt or whether anyone in the restaurant was hurt.
"It's just a little car," Moore said. "I can't believe it did so much damage."

Oh wow! I don't live near there, but IL's keep there boat right near there and we always stop and get stuff at TJ's next door. I hope the lady is ok

all morning at work i kept hearing about how there is a major accident (phone rings) again radio says ok avoid 112 and take sunrise( someone is at the desk) then i finally hear it's at a kfc but did not believe it... kept trying to hear what in the world happen and where.. when i got home it was one of the first things i went to find info on and then to see the pictures i could not believe it I pray that lady is ok

Wow!! We are from Patchogue. We did not even know about this. We have been moving into our own place (two bedroom apartment) this week. This person is in our thoughts and prayers.

It was a man, he blew the light and lost control of his car. I know someone in PD who told me. KFC is all boarded up. They finally left around 7pm.
