Car inspection for new cars
i just brought my car in for inspection. its a 2008 car. it was done in no time and it cost 10.00!!! they said new cars are cheaper and faster for inspection

Yup the first year it is simple. Their should be nothing wrong with a "brand new car".

For the first two years they only do the safety portion of the inspection-not the emissions. That's why it is cheaper and pretty fast.

It's only for cars that are less than two model years old. They just do a safety inspection. After that, it will be an "old" car, so it's back to full emissions testing, etc.....

The 1st year is a safety check and that is why it only costs $10. Next year it will be $40 or what ever the going rate is.
My 73 cougar only costs $10 to inspect because they only do a safety check on that cat also.

When I lived in NY, the first year was cheaper than normal.
In NJ, being I just got my new car in July 08, I won't have to get it inspected until July 2012. And it is free if you go to a state facility.
