Car Lease Question
My boss asked me to read over his lease agreement. he has the lease for 39 months, and it states he is allowed 15,000 miles per year and overages are 15 cents a mile. So since this lease is technically 3 months longer than 3 years, do you think there is a prorated amount allowed for miles or at the end, he shoudl not exceed the 45000 total?

Re: Car Lease Question
it should be prorated...so he would be allowed 45,000 + 3,750 for the last 3 months
I THINK that is how it works

Re: Car Lease Question
If it says 15,000 miles per year than yes it should be prorated.
I would call the lease company to get an accurate answer.

Re: Car Lease Question
I think 39 months is 15k for 3 years and 3750 miles for the other 3 months. I would use 48,750 miles if that is what he is paying for!

Re: Car Lease Question
Ok, DH said to really read the lease agreement because the mileage is figured out on a monthly basis.... but is given in terms of years. I'll give you my lease terms.... I have 10008 miles per year. divide that by 12 months and its 834 miles per month... so multiply that by 39 months and I get 32,526 miles total (not the 30,000 miles I thought).
HTH!! Your boss should be allowed 48,750 miles. SHort answer: yes, it's prorated Glad I asked
