Car radios -- why is it necessary?????

To blast the volume??? Why do I need to hear your music while I'm sitting in my livingroom with all my windows closed??? Why do I need to hear your music before I can even see your car??? Do you think this makes you cool? Sometimes, I'd like to pull up to a stop light and just enjoy my own music. IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO BLARE IT SO THAT THE PEOPLE IN CHINA CAN HEAR IT!!! I hope you go deaf soon, you fool!!

I think they look the opposite of cool sitting in their cars going deaf and annoying everyone for a 2 block radius.

But do you have a subwoofer in your hatch so that your bass rattles my windows? Chat Icon

That's what I can't stand - when all you can hear is the boooooooom booooooom of the bass. How can anyone think that sounds good?

I listen to it loud too- but yet I don't think people can hear it outside my car or in their houses.
I don't think my car's system is capable of that. And if it is- I don't want to find out...

I did in my Celica - there's no point in the truck. When I had the Toyota, the whole car would thump with the music.Chat Icon

Last night around 10 pm, there were two young guys hanging out in a car blasting "Where does that leave Love?" across the street from us (no houses there, just a grassy area) ... my DH went out there and said "Hey George Lamond, you wanna take your guido-ness somewhere else?" Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Car radios -- why is it necessary?????

I am also guilty of having a loud system and cranking it.

My 94 civic had 2 10" rockford fosgate subs and about 900 watts coming out of the system in total

My 2001 Civic had 2 12" subs and about 1200 watts clean.

If I had the stereo loud enough in either one of those cars, your hair would move if you were in the car....The rear view mirror would shake, and one time I was at a red light in valley stream under the train tressel right where the railroad inn is and the windows in the restaurant were vibrating.......

Now I dont bother with the expensive stereo systems anymore....and when someone pulls up next to me with one I start to miss it.....

I knew it annoyed other drivers, but I didnt care.....I was a kid.....I am sure that is how the people that have them now feel too.

Re: Car radios -- why is it necessary?????

I honk at those people and follow them..

they're like...wha?..

I tell them that something must be wrong with their car because it's vibrating so much and it's making my car vibrate.

PIMP

I have to admit I'm impressed with the song that was blasting.

Totally guilty of blasting the car radio back in the day.

Re: Car radios -- why is it necessary?????

im almost 30 and just got 10inch tube with a 800 watt amp (in addition to my other sub and fun speakers) to pimp out my car.. its 2008 scion tc so i really seem like a teenage boy at first glance.. nope i just heart bass ... and i blast music all the time 6 am, 11 pm (haven't gotten yelled at yet!) ... (its been blasting since before i had control of it.. my father was in a band) ... and my hearing tests waaaay above normal ranges... so im not too worried bout losing it anytime soon
i know it annoys other people but tons of things other people do annoy me so i feel its even haha
