care bag for child in hospital
our friends son, who is 3 1/2 is in the hospital, and will be there for at least a week more. I wanted to put together a little baggie of things for him....i was thinking coloring books, crayons, maybe some goldfish and animal crackers....any other ideas? I am going to go to target tomorrow.
I was also going to get a couple of this for the parents..like maybe pretzels, some candy...just things they can pick on.

Re: care bag for child in hospital
My friend's son is in and out of the hospital. He is well taken care of there, so I have been bringing things for him to the house, and letting the parents decide what to bring with them when they go.
Is he in a children's hospital? If yes, they tend to have playrooms on each floor stocked with things to keep the kids busy. Otherwise, find out if his parents have a portable DVD player there with him...if yes, bring a new DVD that he likes (elmo's world or the like). Coloring books and things are good. Target sells a little people doodle pro that I gave him and he likes to draw on.
I wouldn't bring snacks without asking the parents if it is ok first. Depending on why he is there he may be on a special diet. Snacks for the parents, though, are good.
As an aside, if you're thinking balloons go with mylar only. Some hospitals will not allow the latex due to possible allergies.

thank you!! good idea about the snacks...I will just make sure to put a few snacks in the parents bag that he could eat if he is allowed too.
