Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
Do they have any free time in the Camp for children under 2? I am so mad I didn't realize this earlier. I would have made the cruise a few weeks later after he was 2 I am afraid there will be nowhere for him to run around if he is not allowed in the Camp Carnival.

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
John was 16 months when I took him on his first cruise. Even if he was 2 I wouldnt have put in him camp carnival. They have kiddie pool with a surronding area that he ran around in. Honestly he had fun running all over the ship, when we were on board, which honestly wasnt much.

Do they even have a time in the camp where I can go in with him? Just so he can play a little bit? I thought I read that somewhere but now can't find it. We are at sea for 2 1/2 days and I feel like he is going to go stir crazy.

Camp Carnival runs from very early in the morning to late at night - so I am not sure their schedule could accomodate an open play like you are talking about.
Maybe call Carnival directly?

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
I didn't do Carnival, we went on Princess and their camp doesn't allow children under 3... DD was 17 months and had so much fun when we were at sea... Played in the pool, ran around, there were other kids as well so she really didn't get bored...She napped, ate, blah blah... Don't worry there is lots to see and it's so fun!

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
If he is going to be almost 2, I wouldn't call attention to the fact that he wasn't 2, unless they did. I would just bring him to play and stay with him, until I was told otherwise. Then I'd make a big deal (actually I would probably first try to tip them). My experience with age limits is that there is usually a little bit of wiggle room. Good luck.

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
We went on a cruise last year a week before Maya's 2nd birthday. Stupid me mentioned that she was turning two the next week, and they would not let her in. However, there was a set time for infants to age 2. I also have a 4 year old, and they wouldn't let me bring her along, so we never ended up using the camp programs.

I don't know if this helps because my DD was 4 months when we went. But when we dropped her off I saw some kids that *looked* around 2-ish, and there were some watching movies, and some playing with toys. It was nighttime-around 7ish.

We went on Carnival last year when Jenna was 22 months old. They do know how old all the children are, it is on your booking information. On sea days there is free play time, but parents must accompany the children. There is also evening drop off childcare from 10pm - 3am for an additional fee.

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
When we went on our cruise last year (on the Norwegian Dawn), Matthew was 13 months and obviously he was too young for the camp but honestly I wouldn't have put him in the camp. Maybe when he's like 4ish. He wasn't even walking yet so he couldn't run around the ship anyways. But we did take him to the kiddie pool which he loved! And then there was this little room that had toys for little kids. Noone was ever in there so I took DS to this room everyday and he was content just crawling around and playing with the toys. Heck he was happy in the cabin room too, he would hold on to the furniture and walk or he would crawl around the floor. Oh how he loved crawling on the carpets! He enjoyed being out on the balcony too.
I think Andrew will be fine Which carnival ship are you going on? We've been on the carnival legend and it was great! We went in 2005, before Matty was born.

Re: Carnival Cruise Question with children under 2...
We went on RCCL and the age to start was THREE!! AND they only had the Aquatots on New Year's Day at 9am!
You can't fib, you need a passport for him and all of your booking docs will have his DOB on them
ETA: The other s ucky thing was we couldn't even get a babysitter, he had to be over one for that!
