carpet cleaing question....

Sorry if this sounds silly. Before the babies come we want to rent a carpet cleaner. Well we hwve one big area rug...it is burber about a 12x12, with a pad underneathe it.
Do we need to take it outside and clean it, or can we just do it with the pad under it??
Im afraid it will ruin the hardwood floors underneath.

I've never cleaned an area rug, yet. I would take it outside because standing water and those chemicals are no good on hardwood.

My MIL used to send the area rug in her entrance out to get cleaned. Somewhere in East northport but i know that doesn't really help.

Re: carpet cleaing question....

I'd probably just send it out to be cleaned. That's what my parents did with their area rugs on hdwd floors.

Re: carpet cleaing question....

I just called thouro kleen and they are coming next week to do my stairs +landing and my sectional for 109.00. they have come here before and they have the best prices and they do great work. with all my pets I use them often!
those carpet cleaners are a hassle, its cheaper to have the pro's do it. good luck
