carpet cost?
What's the most affordable place for carpet? Turns out we're going to need to replace the rugs in our new place because the previous owners left them a mess :( It wasn't an expense we were counting on.... so I'm looking for a good deal for nice quality.... thanks!!

Are they affordable for carpet? I priced them out for window treatments and they were insane.

I priced empire for carpet and they were out of control!! We got ours from Carpet Depot, it's a chain. Also G.Fried Carpet on Old Country Rd in Westbury is supposed to be really good from what I hear.

Re: carpet cost?
We just had empire do our downstairs and we had them do our bedrooms when we moved in. When we had them in the 2nd time they wanted about 600 more than they charged us for upstairs and it was about the same square footage so we told them we weren't paying more than a certain amount and they met our price. If you need the carpets quickly I think they do a great job for the price you may have to negotiate alittle with them and I used the $150 off coupon on their website. I also recommend the place in Levittown my husband used them when he redid his bedroom when he was still living at home.
For 420 square feet and about 5 stairs we paid $1300 plus tax and we paid about 1200 for 380 square feet last april. We got berber carpet in all our rooms. My husband also priced a local carpet store and they wanted a little more and we would have had to wait 4 weeks

Ditto! Empire not only had horrible service (I'm sure you'll find my post on here somewhere...though others have had excellent service...) They were also EXTREMELY overpriced. We ended up with EXACTLY what we wanted AND a much higher quality carpet for LESS than Empire...we went to G.Fried Carpet in Westbury....EXCELLENT!

Re: carpet cost?
We just bought carpet for our bedroom. We bought a 12x17 remnant for $175 from Montauk Carpet on 110 in Huntington(?). They do installation but I don't know how much they charge.

Re: carpet cost?
We used Home Depot. I found them to be less than Lowes.
