Carpet in baby's room??
Do you think its a bad idea to put a carpet in the nursery?? (With all the dust & stuff)???
Just asking because I have a carpeted spare room in my house & if we do get lucky this month I want to know if I should take the carpet out or not.

Re: Carpet in baby's room??
I don't really have a choice in the matter. I live in a rental apt. and the floors are all carpeted. I figure that as long as I consistently vaccuum the carpet, it should be fine. Besides, I hear that babies find the sound of the vaccuum soothing (sounds like what they hear inside the womb).

we have carpet in all our bedrooms. Everything else is wood. I personally prefer carpet in bedrooms. Get a good vacuum.

Re: Carpet in baby's room??
We refinished the wood floors in all of our bedrooms when we bought our house, so there is no carpet in them, but I would like an area rug to make the room look cozier.

Re: Carpet in baby's room??
I actually had harwood floors in the room that is going to be the nursery and am going to put a rug in before the baby comes. I feel like it is just a little extra padding in case my baby is one that decides to climb out of the crib at some point and also so that when I want to give the baby tummy time I can throw down a blanket and have it be more comfortable. I just kept thinking about a baby trying to crawl around on a hardwood floor...so painful...whenever I have to kneel on those floors, it kills me!!

I also like that I can put her down and she can roll all over the place and has some cushion.

Re: Carpet in baby's room??
We live in a rented apt and the bedrooms are carpeted so there is really nothing we can do about it. We'll just have to make sure we vacuum a lot in there, especially since we have 4 cats.
