Carpets and big dogs
How is your carpet holding up with a big dog walking around/laying on it? Does it pick up the dog smell quickly or there's a product out there that you use to maintain it clean and smell free?
I have ceramic tiles throughout my house right now but we're thinking about putting a carpet in the bedroom.
Thanks!

Re: Carpets and big dogs
My parents have a yellow lab & have carpets throughout the entire house with exception to the kitchen. The carpets are still in good shape regardless of the dog walking & laying on them. My mom vacuum's at least every other day. They also shampoo the rugs once a month. I can't remember the rugs ever smelling

Re: Carpets and big dogs
I have two dogs, one dog that sheds a lot. I do vacuum almost daily and shampoo them every 3 months. The carpets still look good. However, if I had an opportunity to have tile or wood flooring, I would do that. It is a prefference, not because the carpet is messed up.

Re: Carpets and big dogs
I have a BIG dog. 180 lb Mastiff. Who thinks she's a princess and wont sleep on my wood or ceramic floors, only my carpets. Yes, they do hold odor. I find the best this is Arm & Hammer Per Hair Release. Its a spray foam you apply to carpets or furniture. It gets rid of that doggy smell.
