Carpets installed and a stomach virus....

We got our carpets installed yesterday. We can finally start moving into our house! Chat Icon Chat Icon

The morning started off with my running to the bathroom because I finally caught the same virus that the rest of the family had. Mine just happened to come during carpet day. They showed up around 10, so I spent the entire morning alternating between praying to the porcelain gods, and moving boxes of stuff to rooms that weren't getting new carpet.

The evening was spent on the couch and/or the new carpets, since my stomach hurt so much..... oh, and digging things out of DS's room, since that's where we put most of the stuff in the house, and we had to at least unbury a path to his bed... Chat Icon

On the good side, the carpets look and feel great, and my stomach feels much better.

I don't have any pics yet. I took a few while they were working, but I want to get some daylight photos of the carpet.

We went with a light tan downstairs, and a light grey upstairs. With the grey upstairs, it will go with any color wall paint we choose.

Obviously, you don't know me.... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Tonight, I have to crawl through the attic to reattach the satellite cables, since the living room moved from upstairs to downstairs. I also have to move more furniture around, reconnect all of the TV/stereo equipment, hang blinds in some of the windows, etc, etc. I'll probably also have to help DW make a snowman costume for DS for a play he's doing tomorrow..... I don't have time to be sick... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We went with the Mohawk SmartStrand line. It's corn-based, so it is much better for the environment. It is also naturally stain-resistant. No need to apply any kind of protectant on it (and reapply after shampooing, or after it wears off). It's also a naturally very soft thread.
