Carribbean All-inclusive Recommendations for January

DH and I seriously need a vacation. Haven't been away anywhere in 5 years.

We are looking to go away in january for a few days and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to go.

Thanks!

Aventura Spa Palace - Riviera Maya, Mexico

My mini-review (copied and pasted from LIW so ignore all the HM references):

ETA: It was all-inclusive with 24 hour room service!!!!!!

Soooooooo, we stayed at Aventura Spa Palace in Mexico. If we weren't doing Europe - it would def be a contender for our honeymoon. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than Sandals. Like eons better. The service was just awesome - they were so nice, and accomodating, and friendly. I can't say enough good things about them. My FH is actually going to write them a letter about fantastic they were. The grounds are gorgeous - very tropical as opposed to beachy. There is no beach because it's like right on the ocean. They have a little lagoon area that you can snorkel in and kayak through. And a huge asss pool.

I HIGHLY recommend it for an HM. They have excursions that you can do - we went to Chichen Itza (ruins) - do NOT go there. It's just long. 2.5 hrs there, 2.5 hrs back, stop for shopping (NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM A MARKETPLACE - so much cheaper at the ruins). We also went to Xcaret which is an ecological park - we swam with the dolphins - we even got the foot push where you water ski on them. AWESOME. So worth the money - it was $300 for the two of us.. But don't do Xcaret - just go to a dolphin place - it was another $240 on top of the $300 to get in and it was just a small zoo on a lot of property. A friend of mine recommends the ATV tour - we didn't do that b/c we mostly wanted to relax.. But in hindsight, I wish we had done that instead of the ruins..

We also got massages - HIGHLY recommend it too. Of course.

Food was phenominal in all the restaurants... Couple of places had breakfast and lunch buffets - CLUTCH.

It was just a very relaxing, pampering, vacation.

They treated us like gold so I can only imagine what they do for honeymooners.

I will post pics when I can!

Shout out to Tilde who I think recommended this place to me - your parents go there?. THANK YOU TILDE!!!!!!!

Thanks for the replies. We ended up booking Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. Got a great deal on an upgraded room.
