Carter's size chart
I need a refresher course as I have forgotten everything from when DS was a baby...
How do their sizes run? Big/ small/ true to size?
DD will be born at the very end of April. Should I get her size 3M or 6M for the summertime? Assuming she is average size and not crazy upper or lower percentiles...

Re: Carter's size chart
I found for my DS they ran small. At 3-4 months, he was in 6 months clothes. Then again, he was always tall for his age.

With DS he was true to size. At 3 mths he was wearing 3 mths. We went to 6 mth when he was 5 mths

Re: Carter's size chart
I'd prob get a bit of both. DD wore 3 months up until she was 3 months, and then 6 months from 3-6months old.

Re: Carter's size chart
I find Carter's runs true to size. DD was also born in April. I found that DD wore the 0-3/3-month clothing until about mid-July and then I had to switch her to 3-6/6-month clothing for the remainder of the summer.
DD loved these type of outfits during the summer because she could move her legs around and not get so hot. Onsie w/attached skirt, so it looks like a mini-dress. Makes changing a breeze!

Also try Gymboree clothing - I started using their clothing when DD was 1 year old and wished I had used them sooner - their clothes last and even fit one year later because their waists are adjustable. I agree about shopping for girl clothes - there is a lot to choose from. I have to shop for a little boy now that I'm expecting in May and it's just not the same!

Re: Carter's size chart
DD is 13 months and is still wearing some 12m but she is transitioning into 18!
She is 21.5lb and 31 inches! She is 50th for weight and 75th for length! So, I say TTS!

Re: Carter's size chart
compared to the label I would say true to size. DD was a bigger baby and was always in the next size. but as a toddler, she leveled off a lot. she's almost 17 months and still fits 12-18 clothes. 18-24 month is still a bit awkwardly big.

Carter's size chart
My DD is a peanut, she's always been in the 5th-7th percentile for weight/height (although she's recently moved up to 12th for height, woo!), so we find Carters runs really big. She's 15mo now, but still wears some 6mo sized stuff and most 12mo sized stuff is HUGE on her.
If you end up having a tiny DD, you may have a similar experience. I ended up having to go out right after bringing DD home to buy a whole new wardrobe because I only had a few items in newborn size. She wore Carters NB size until about 4-5mo!

Carter's size chart
DD is pretty average, maybe a little small and I have always found their stuff to run true to size.

Re: Carter's size chart
I find them to be on the bigger side. My DD is 50th percentile for height, but 5th for weight, and Carter's pants run wide on her. Right now, the Carter's 18 month pants either fit or are a little big in the waist, but in Children's place, she fits into 18-24 month pants (which is the equivalent of 24 month clothing, since their next size is 2T). When DD was an infant, I found that Carters fit her better than it does now.

Re: Carter's size chart
I would say true to size. My DD was only 6lbs. 1 oz. at birth so she started smaller than most babies. The labels say the weight range and they are pretty accurate.

For us, Carter's runs big, I buy one size down. My dd is two and a half and she can still wear 24 months.

Re: Carter's size chart
i'd say tts but there are some things that are completely off -jeans or dress pants run small, especially girl's skinny jeans -onesies run large and we still fit into the size down

Re: Carter's size chart
I always felt carters ran big....
my dd wears size 18-24m clothes but can still wear carters 12m onesies...granted she only wears them under her pjs but they still fit! I always liked their onesies because I knew they would last a while and my dd would get a lot of use out of them.
