Cast iron vs. Acrylic tubs
What do you guys think is the better choice? We will also be using it as a shower with glass doors mounted to the tub.

do you take baths?
My mom had a cast iron tub installed in her place because she takes a bath every night and the cast iron stays hot longer than an acrylic one.

I do take baths, occasionally. I am more concerned with durability and quality. I don't want to go with an acrylic only to have to replace it in a few years

I know that acrylics are definitely cheaper than cast iron tubs. I heard they can feel flimsy and scratch easily but I don't know if it is true. We have an old cast iron one that we are replacing.

Cast iron is better. I just went through this with my contractor (we are re-doing the bathroom too). Good luck!!
