Casually keeping track
So, I am just finishing up my period, would start a new pack tonight of BCP, but I am not going back on.
We plan to start TTC in December-- but, I guess if something happens before then, it happens.
Anyway-- I want to start taking notice of things so when the time comes to really try, we're ready. I plan to be really good and mark stuff off in my calendat and using MyMonthlyCycles.com.
What should I be looking for? I know CM and EWCM starting at CD 10. What else?

Re: Casually keeping track
pay attention to ovulation pains at the middle of your cycle (sharp pain, stretching on one side). Hopefully you are lucky enough to have them

Re: Casually keeping track
Randi - I always got mild cramping around the time of ovulation. Mine felt like AF cramps, but more mild.

Re: Casually keeping track
I would just make sure you keep track of how long each cylce is and EWCM. When you are ready to start actively trying, you may want to pick up some OPKs.

Re: Casually keeping track
Do I need to keep track of what my period is doing? Also, what about the luteal phase?

Re: Casually keeping track
I would keep track of everything - it doesn't hurt. It helps for when you want to TTC...and it will help if you happen to have issues with TTC.
I track my CM, symptoms leading up to O and then AF, when I O and how long each cycles is (which in turn gives me my LP).

I recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility as a good starting point.

Re: Casually keeping track
The cycle before we TTC, I used OPK's so I would know when I ovulated and how long my LP is. Knowing how long your LP is good, bc then you know when is too early to take a HPT and exactly when to expect AF. I would def suggest using OPK's a cycle or 2 before you TTC.

I have it-- perhaps I will finally start reading after I finish Harry Potter.

I totally plan on doing this too-- I am going to wait a month or two to start with this.
Thanks everyone!!
