Cat Mommies (& Daddies)...questions about leaving cats while on vacation
We are going on vacation next week for 8 days. We have 2 cats
There are 2 family memebers who usually watch Sisko & Cinders. 1 is going on their own vacation and 1 is coming with us. We dont really have many other people to ask.
My parents are elderly and live about 25 minutes from us. To ask them to come everyday is alot. You think every other day is ok?
There will be a self feeder of dry food out and one a self water bowl too (It has a 32 ounce bottle on the inside and fills the bowl automatically when it gets low) I just have people coming over to give them canned food...
We leave the 21st and they will be fed that day
I have someone who can come over on the 22nd and feed them & clean the litter box
I was going to ask my parents to come over on the 24th & 26th to feed them and clean the litter box.
We have someone who can come over at night on the 27th to feed them
We then come home on the 28th

I think if they are happy to do it why not? I mean as long as they can physically do it (clean litter box and feed)

That will definatley be fine. When my cat is home alone, I will leave him up to 2 nights. For example, if I leave Friday and come home Sunday.
My cat likes to drink out of the sink so I leave it running, just a drop, for him.

ive left our cats for entire weekends with no problems.... anything longer i normally have some one come by... some friends actually stayed at my apartment to "hang out" and play with our cats......
i also like to put the TV or TVs on timers to come on and off throughout the day/night... and timers on the lights....

We've done a 9 day vacation and had someone come every 3 days.
Don't like to, but she's OK when we get back. Extra lovey of course. (And she gets extra treats!)
We keep out mulitple water sources and 2 huge bowls of food. Luckily she isn't picky about litterbox and is OK going 2 to 3 days without a scoop.
