Cat Urine problem in and around my house - help!
well there seems to be a couple of stray cats that like to hang around my house. we don't see them too often, but they do come around. I'm highly allergic to cats and they seem to be either going to the bathroom or spraying outside of the house. What a smell that is. . Can I do anything about this?
And the other question is, the previous owners had cats too and we took up all the carpet and put down new floors and painted every room, but recently when I go into the apartment in our house (which we are still working on so we can rent), has this smell too. Any idea of getting rid of this smell? It's really bad. TIA!
ETA: we put down new laminate wood floors, painted all the walls, put up new base molding, cleaned all the baseboard heating and cleaned the whole entire apartment. This urine smell came back recently after hammering the base molding up. Do you think they sprayed on the walls and now the smell is in the walls? If that is the case and of course we will never know, how can we get this smell out of the rooms? Please help.

well we think it might be in the walls, so would cleaning the walls with vinegar be a good idea at this point since we already painted the walls? Thanks!

the weird part is that after we pulled up the carpet, the smell went away. We put down new laminate wood flooring, painted and even put new base molding up. Any ideas?

How many cats did your house used to have? If the cats used to spray the walls, that's a problem.
Someone I know bought a house to flip and this woman had a TON of cats (I mean at least 15). The only way for them to get rid of the smell was to go down to the studs, use bleach, and then put up new walls. I hope you don't have to do that!

I believe it was only 3 or 4 cats from what we saw and what they told us. I hope we don't have to take down any walls.

I saw one of those shows where they Flip homes & there was one really stinky one..they used a special paint thet seals the wall & keeps the stink from coming out. Sorry i don't remember which show or name of product
