CD15... UPDATED on bottom
and still no positive on the OPK. Last month I got a positive on CD10. Saturday I felt some cramping on my left side and thought maybe it was O but I never got a positive on the OPK. And actually, it felt more like AF-type cramping. I'm still taking the OPKs every day. I take them between 4 and 5 usually and I have nothing to drink for 2-3 hours before. I've been using 2 different tests (1 is First Response and the other is Clearblue Digital). On the First Response, yesterday I got 2 lines that were the same darkness, but still a neg. on the digital. And when I ejected the digital from the "reader" one line was much lighter than the other, which I assume is equivalent to the 2 lines on the regular test.
I just don't know what is going on here. DH and I have been BDing every other night because I just don't know if or when something is going to happen. I have to be honest though, some nights it doesn't really fit into our schedule but I told him I don't care -- we're doing it no matter what! He was like ...
We'll have to see what today's test brings...
Update: Okay so here I am on day 17 and still no + on the OPK. In fact, the "test line" on the First Response is now much lighter than the "reference line". But, I never got a darker "test" line and I never got a + on the digital. Do you think I actually had a surge on day 15 but it was not very strong, so the OPKs did not detect it?
Does anybody know how long the OB/GYN makes you wait before getting an appointment to discuss fertility issues? I really don't want to have to wait 4-6 weeks like I do when I make an appt. for my yearly exam. I want answers and I want them soon. I am going to be 38 this year and I don't have alot of time to waste ...
Anyway, I just feel very defeated and sad right now. I really hope something changes soon...

Re: CD15...
Is your cycle regular? last month i O'd on cd 19 and this month on cd 14, so it just varies. I think bding every other in the beginning is good until you are familiar with you cycle. have you read "Taking charge of my fertility" it's very informative.

I too have very irregular cycles, especially since having DD. Maybe try reading that book to help you.

Re: CD15...
i've tried different OPKs using the same urine sample and have gotten conflicting results. they are definitely not all of the same sensitivity. if you got a positive first response, i would go with that as your positive.
but i think your plan of BD every other day is a solid one, regardless of the OPK results. if you just do the deed every other day there is no way you can miss your fertile days! i am biased - but DH and i tried every trick in the book (every day, twice a day, 3 days in a row after + OPK, etc. etc.), and the month we just did it consistently, every other day, from day 6-16, is the month we got pregnant. maybe it was a total coincidence, i really think the every other day thing had something to do with it...

Re: CD15...
I am on CD 18 and still no + on the OPK. I am giving up on it and I am just going to do it every other day until AF arrives. Lucky month for my DH.....
But i think i started testing too late.

Re: CD15... UPDATED on bottom
Ok, well I finally got a positive on the OPK on CD17. Then it was even darker on CD18. So, DH and I are BDing for 3 nights in a row, we started on day 17. Wish us luck!
