cell phone/ringtone ??

how do you set a certain ringtone for a certain person?

i have a samsung intensity if that makes a difference.

vin said to go to ringtones, select the ringtone and go to set as and then contact ID but it doesn't work.

it still just plays the default ringer when vin calls me.

help!

i don't have any samsung experience, but try going into the contact you want (vinny), then edit. there should be a spot for ringer

thanks. there is. and i can see the song i want under him! but then when he calls - it is a diff. ringer.

what is going on?! lol

he even tried looking at it - nada.

i guess i have to bring it to verizon - i feel dumb!

he thinks that i did some setting so that it would not set ind. songs but i don't even know if you can do that so how did i do that??

According to the manual for the phone you need to go into the contact record for the person and set a ringtone in the rigtone section for that contact...look for the ringtone pic

This section allows you to manage your daily contacts by storing
their name and number in your Address Book.
Opening Contacts Menu
The Contacts menu provides access to powerful features such as
adding Groups, creating and sending vCards, and viewing the
phone number assigned to your phone by Verizon Wireless.
NOTE: The menu navigation instructions for this section uses the
default My Place display theme, Grid menu layout.
1. From the home screen, press MENU. Press the
Directional key to highlight the Contacts menu and
press .
2. Press the Directional key up or down to highlight
the Contacts menu item of your choice, then press
to select it.
Contacts Icons
You can assign multiple entries to a contact. The icons in the
following table represent all available entry types.

Mobile 1 icon. Enter a mobile number for the entry in this
field.
Home icon. Enter a home number for the entry in this field.
Work icon. Enter the work number for the entry in this field.
Email 1 icon. Enter an Email address for the entry in this field.
Group icon. Select an available group to associate with the
entry in this field.
Picture icon. Select an available pre-loaded image or
downloaded image from Picture ID to associate with the
contact.
Ringtone icon. Select a ringtone to associate with the entry
in this field.
Mobile 2 icon. Enter a secondary mobile number for the
entry in this field.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE - You MUST have the contact number listed as the full 10 digit number with area code for this function to work.
Maybe that is your problem
