I had heard that someone died, and that a helicopter was brought in to airlift someone (don't know if it was for the person who passed away).
I was stuck in traffic on Nichols Road for over an hour and a half this morning. I finally turned off of Nichols before I got to the scene, so I didn't get to see what had happened.
And the Newsday report is wrong...Nichols Road northbound was still bumper to bumper for several miles at 10am this morning.

wow, i just had a mini heart attack....that's Rich's route to his new job - he always calls me in the morning, and I didn't get a call today. When I first clicked the link, I saw what I thought was HIS silver car  When my nerves calmed down and I took a closer look, I realized that he has a black interior..phew. Ever since I got that scary call a couple years ago that he was in an accident, I worry way too much.
I just checked news 12, and there's no info there. What a terrible accident - how sad.

It was a mad house this morning!!! We go this way everyday and ended up driving over the grass to head north and take the back way up to the LIE. They had it all blocked off right before the Middle Country overpass and were landing a helicopter. Which can't be good considering how close Stonybrook is.

Looking at the pics it must have happened after the overpass. Where people get on Nicholls from Middle Country. People drive like maniacs over there all the time
