Totally up to you! I did diaper cakes and three balloons for my baby shower. Flowers are also very pretty too!

Both would be great. Total preference. And budget lol. Flowers would be more money.
Or do flowers with a Mylar baby ballon

Crashing.. I did diaper cakes. Restaurant had flowers and candles already. I also did hanging balloons from the ceiling. I did diaper cakes after I ordered the balloons. I just wanted the restaurant to look more festive.

Either are nice, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
For another option, lately I've seen some ADORABLE centerpieces with hardcover children's books. The best part is you actually get to use them afterwards. I'm sure you could find ideas on Pinterest.

They are both nice, but I love flowers. I just went to a shower that had beautiful white hydrangeas in mason jars. They were so pretty!

Going to look into diaper cakes and maybe flowers with a sprinkle of balloons to fill up the space. Thanks guys!

I think whatever you like is what you should go with. For my shower, we did candles because I'm not big into flowers or balloons.

My mom made custom burp cloths that matched my crib set and rolled them up and stuck a cut out of a baby animal in each one. It was really cute.

For my shower I'm painting mason jars pink and we are filling them with baby's breath.

We did balloons but they were kinda pricey because it was through a professional balloon person. They came out nice though.

My mom and I got creative...
We did a pic of DH as a baby, and a pic of me as a baby on each table. Then, we had the flower centerpiece -- blue hydrangea and iris because I was having a boy...
We did table names instead of numbers to go with the Peter Rabbit, Beatrix Potter theme I did in the nursery that appeared on the registry...
Then, we made outfit centerpieces. My mom's best friend, who is like an Aunt to me, and my mom picked out outfits and displayed them on a stand-up centerpiece made out of, of all things, a plunger they bought from the dollar store. Then, some tissue paper and tulle and ribbon and you have a cute way to display some of the outfits that were bought for the new baby's arrival...
