Central Veterinary Associates in Valley Stream
Does anybody have any experiences with them? My puppy is there and we've only been using them for the past 4 months. Is it a good hospital?
TIA

I know the pet store on sunrise highway gives free service coupons out to their customers for that vet. I wouldn't support that. JMO
Sorry thats all I know.
Hope your puppy is doing better

Re: Central Veterinary Associates in Valley Stream
I was unhappy with their other hospital in Bayside. My cat was transferred over to them b/c they are 24 hrs. I still believe they are the reason she passed

You must not be far from my Vet - A&A Vet hospital in Franklin Square on Franklin Ave. I would recommend them to anyone - they are truly amazing.

I can highly recommend mine in Garden City Park. I would not go to that one, sorry.
FM if you want mine. My vet treats my dogs better than my own dr treats me.

A&A is my vet too and my parents as well. I also highly recommend them. I had my cat spayed at Central Vet in Valley Stream and I was not happy with them.

Re: Central Veterinary Associates in Valley Stream
Thanks for all the input. We have made the decision to change vets and I just have to decide which to go with now.
I definitly think we were overcharged at CVA, and now I know not to be taken advantage of.

My sister just left this practive after 15 years. She wasn't happy. They aren't an animal hospital, they will send you to Plainview.
I took Ebony to Central Vet on a Friday night at midnight when he had bloat. They saved his life. However, it took me 2 years to pay off the bills.
Ebony later in life went to PLainview - and he passed away while they were still determining what he had - 3 days later they told us it was meningitis. Again, thousands of dollars in bills.
So all that being said - I think no matter what animal hospital you go to, it will be a lot of $$. I cannot recommend either of these places without reservation.
Next time we need a hospital we will be going to the one in Westbury.

Beware of the vet in Valleystream. They killed my friends dog a number of years ago. I would not recommend them to anyone

I totally agree with you that any hospital is going to be $$. I think we will be going to a bulldog specialist as our regular vet and if god forbid there's an emergency, we'll take him to westbury.
Thanks for your story.

Honestly this is your best bet... From what I have read and heard from other bulldog owners (we're looking into the breed for ourselves so I've done a lot of research lately!) it's best to go to a bulldog specialist.
If your pup is going to need any kind of surgery requiring anesthesia they will know how to handle it as they have a lot of physical respitory needs to consider when putting them under.
If you want, I will get you the name of the vet my friend from work uses for her two bulldogs.

I actually have a bulldog specialist that I have used in the past because I have a 6yr old bully as well. He was great but I wasn't totally satisfied b/c every time I went there, we'd see someone different. I think we only saw the actual specialist 2x. I got a referral from someone to see Dr. Haagenson in Farmingdale. We will most likely use him. If you speak to your friend, and can get the name of who they use, that would be great. The only reason we went to Central Vet this time was b/c his shots were covered by the place my bf got him from. Big mistake, and now I know.

We've used Crawford for YEARS and never had a problem with them. They were very good to our dog throughout the years... until the day he died.
I bring my cat there as well.

Oh ok... I will get her vet info and forward it to you. Consider it a back up of sorts!
I know in her practice, there are only two vets so you only see one of them. They're located out east. One location is in Aquabogue and the other is in Eastport.

we went there for many years. i WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN with my baby. my good friend in high school worked there handling the pets and the stories she told were disgusting. she walked out after several days.
we had several run ins with the vets. we actually left before my friend worked there, but i was not surprised at all by what she told me as it fit with a lot that we suspected.
we now go to oceanside vet (don't know the exact name) and mineola animal hospital
