Certified Pre-owned spinoff
The BMW thread made me think. We are thinking about a new car in about 6-12 months. We tossed around used car, but I'm wondering what people of brands other than BMW thought of the process.

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
I have 2 certified preowned VWs (a Passat and a Toureg) and we've had a great experience with them.

I think we are going to go this route for our next car - you still get a great car for a more affordable price.

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
My current car is a certified pre-owned (dealer demo) Buick Enclave. We went this route for considerable savings, plus the 4-year bumper to bumper warranty it offered (better than the new car warranty).

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
thanks for the feedback. Dealer demo I guess would be optimal. My biggest fear is that someone did not treat it well and I'll end up with their problems.

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
My DHs car was purchased CPO. When my lease is up next year, we are considering buying CPO again. I don't think I'll ever buy new again. We bought DHs from Dodge and had a decent experience. The car was still under warranty for 3 years and came with some other warranty, so that was a big factor in our decision. Just make sure you do not purchase a car that was previously a rental car. People beat them up and the rental car companies supposedly are not required to report certain things. Ask for the CarFax report, which they should provide for free, and see who owned the vehicle. And just make sure you go to Edmunds.com to get the value of the vehicle and don’t pay more than that. Good luck!!

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
We are thinking of going the route for DH's next car, whenever that may be.
We already lease my car and really can't afford 2 payments. So we were hoping for a CPO that we could possibly buy in cash.
I feel as long as it comes with a warranty, has a clear car fax report, and is not outrageously priced, we are golden.

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
I have a pre-owned Honda Accord. It's a 2002 and we have had zero issues with it.

Re: Certified Pre-owned spinoff
I bought a CPO Accord with the extended warranty in 2001--it was a 98 off a lease. I had it until this past December!
I didn't want another Honda so this time I bought a CPO BMW. I'll probably have this one for a few years until I need something bigger when we have kids...
