cervix length - when to worry
I am having twins and they measured by cervix at 4 cm but when she put pressure on it - it only measured 3 cm
i am 22 weeks - and of course now the perinatologist wants to see me again next week - but they are not my normal doc and seem to make me stress over things that are not that scary
when does your start to worry -
are there any other BTDT experinces with cervix length - this all new - i never knew what my cervix length was when i was pregnant with my son

You don't worry. You just listen to what the doctor says to do. Worrying is just a misuse of imagination.
If they put you on bed rest, you'll follow doctor's orders. If they believe they need to do a cerclage, they'll do it.
I know it's hard, but trust your docs and specialists. Hugs to you!

With twins, your perinatologist will have you check your cervical length every two weeks around 28 weeks. At 28 weeks, my cervical length measured 3.7 cm. At 30 weeks, my cervical length measured 3.2 cm. The perinatologist that I see put me on strict bed rest as a precaution. I never had to have a cerclage. He told me that anything over 3 cm is good. Not to worry!!!

Re: cervix length - when to worry
My perinatologist and OB have different opinions. My OB measured me at 3.28 last week and said it's on the lower side of normal (above 3) and I should take it easy. My perinatologist says they only take action if it gets down near 2. As long as it's above 3, you should be fine. I don't know if it's different for twins. If it makes you feel better, lay down as much as you can and it will help.
