Cess pool in Nassau County?
I have the weirdest thing happening to my front lawn/walkway. My walkway leading to my house is caving in little by little and the grass right next to it is sinking in and become a small ditch.
My neighbor said its possible that its the cesspool from way back in the day.
Has this happened to anyone in Nassau? If so who do I call to fix it. The county? Or landscaper or a cess pool company? I have no idea where to begin.
TIA.

If it's an old cesspool, you should call in a cesspool company. They'll have to remove it. your lawn / walkway will be a mess after that. Then call the landscaper to repair the mess.....

Irene, I would call and cesspool company and have them come out with detection equipment to see if they can locate a cesspool under there. It's possible it was abandoned when the house was hooked up to sewer, or it could just be something else. They can then give you estimates on what it would take to remove and fill.
