cesspool- first rookie homeowner mistake
we're in contract for a house. somehow I realized that I have no clue if we have a cesspool or sewer. I was not able to make it to our inspection but my husband said that the inspector said nothing about a cesspool.
Anyway, it ends up we have a cesspool, there are no sewers in our area.
What do I need to know/worry about? We have no clue about the condition of the cesspool or when it was replaced last. This worries me!
Any advice or words of wisdom for a first time homebuyer?

Would that come up on the title search? We're in the same boat, but we have "experience" with a cesspool (my parents have one). I would imagine the sellers would be able to share all of the info with you.

That should definitely be in your inspection report.

That should definitely be in your inspection report.
the inspection report just says "home inspections do not include drainage inspections"
I just thought that was standard and didn't worry about it.
Rookie mistake!
