chamomile tea for kids?
I've heard some people swear by giving their kids chamomile tea when their kids have stomach aches or colds. Has anyone ever heard of this or tried it? I've also heard that it works for colic in babies. But I'm nervous to try it. Any thoughts?

from my experience fennel tea is much better for stomach aches, but chamomile works great to calm babies...

I haven't tried this with my DS, but I have tried it on myself and I find that it helps me. My tummy was bothering me at work on Tuesday and after drinking some chamomile tea, I felt a lot better. Don't know if this helps.
For a cold, maybe it warms them up and helps clear the congestion 
If your DC is old enough, it's also good with some honey.

My grandmother swore by chamomile tea mixed with spearmint leaves for flavor.... That's what I ALWAYS had for an upset tummy!

I give it to DD when her tummy is upset. My mom used to give it to me when I was a baby. IMO it does help. My ped also recommended it for colic and gas.

ok, so to those that have given it. I assume you don't give it when it's very hot, more like lukewarm? DD has been complaining of a tummy ache so I'm thinking of giving her some.

I made the tea and let it cool to room temp and gave it to DD like that.

It has a black licorice flavor.

I gave it to DD when she was an infant and had colic. I used to give her an ounce of lukewarm like you said. It doesn't hurt to try it with DD.

We tried this with out DD and it didn't work. But it had to be cooled to room temp before giving it to her.
