Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
DD is about 7 weeks (a little over). Today she has been very fussy and seems uncomfortable (like gas pain). My mom said I used to get chamomille tea when I was a baby. Does anyone do this? I was going to give her an ounce in her bottle (without formula) and see if it helps. I'll call my ped first but wondering if anyone else has tried/had success with this?

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
My ped had me try this for my DD when she was about 8 weeks old - mixed with formula - it didn't help.
Good luck - I know how frustrating that is!

I have never given it to DS alone. I used to mix the tea with formula. No real reason as to why I did it that way- my mom told me to b/c that's how she used to make it for me. Wanted to add that it did help with DS.

Sorry I'm on my iPad and can't add to my op. We used it and it really worked. The chamolmile calms them too.

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
Our ped recommend it, never mix with formula!
Always give it between bottles/nursing sessions.
Our peds recipe was chamomile tea with a little bit of brown sugar.
I added fennel seeds to the tea and it was a magic potion, I would give sip or two when he was fussy 1 hour after bottles/nursing and at least 30 minutes before the next session.
If you add it formula you will dilute it, the same way you would with water and it prevents baby from absorbing nutrients.
Depending on weight you may give from 2oz to up to 8oz a day of it. But call your ped to make sure.

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
My baby is same age and just started to become fussy from gas pains. I gave him mylicon drops and it helps but only for a short time. Aim going to try the tea today- how do u make it just make a cup of tea and let it cool?

Exactly. My kids still love chamomile tea and they are 2 & 4 years old.

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
OK I put an ounce in a bottle. She took a few sips and passed out. I'm assuming she was just tired lol but I will try this again if she gets up fussy again. She was weirded out by the tea a little bit, making funny faces but drinking it. I guess it's the difference in consistency between that and the formula she is used to

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
we gave chamomile tea with 3/4 tsp of brown sugar mixed in from the time DS was 3 weeks until 4 months. The brown sugar isn't absorbed in their system. it helps with gas too.

Re: Chamomile tea to help with fussiness?
I have given DS some with a tiny bit of sugar a few times. However, when I brought this up to his pediatrician, he didn't want me to give it to him frequently. He told us that teas throw off their sodium levels and could cause issues. Not exactly sure of the details, but he told me to try and limit it.
