Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I'm only 6 weeks and I already feel my body changing. I also weight about 5 pounds more. Did anyone else see changes really early on? I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to gain more weight than the average pregnant woman will gain. It's still so early. How can I be gaining that much weight already?!?

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
were you really small or underweight before getting pregnant? I've heard that you gain more that way. usually if you're average or overweight you gain a little less. Everybody's different when it comes to weight gain, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. You might be gaining quick now, but it'll probably slow down.
I can't really say for sure. I was pretty average sized when I got pregnant and I think I gained about 5-7 pounds during my first trimester. My scale broke though so I'm not sure how much I've gained since then Horrors!!!

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I'm 7 weeks and I've felt my body change but I'm praying I haven't gained weight yet. I am a bit overweight, my doctor told me I shouldn't really gain anything the first trimester. My back really hurt and the Doc said that my uterus is tilted. Back pain (looking back) was one of my first symptoms...I also feel like my hip bones hurt, I didn't mention that to the Doc because that seems pretty normal in my opinion, overall I am paler and thinner in my face Everyone is different! I've had friends look fully pregnant at 4 months and others not look pregnant until the last hoorah!
Good Luck!

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I was very bloated at 6 weeks & my boobs were already starting to spill out of my bra. I felt totally fat & gross. It did get better though. I only gained 2 lbs my first trimester though. 5lbs is a lot for 6 weeks to be honest. Watch carbs/ sugars. You can only do your best, it's hard to control eating while pregnant. It takes all my will power.

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I am 7 almost 8 weeks and I feel like my body has recently changed. Im about to go out and buy new bras already because they are getting so tight, my shirts and pants are starting to get snug already and I am worried.
I dont overreat at all, but I think my problem may be sodium. I have been extremely nauseas and the only stuff I want is carbs and sugar. The thought of veggies or fruits makes me so sick. I tried to eat an apple one night and I felt sooo sick afterwards. Ive basically been living on ginger ale, saltines, and ginger snaps, pretzels, and cereal. I finally found some low sodium saltines and im trying to cut out the pretzels and increase my water intake bc I feel like maybe thats why I feel so gross and bloated. I only eat when I start to feel hungry, and I eat a bunch of smaller meals throughout the day, so I wont have that "stuffed" feeling.
I am actually up right now because I cant sleep bc im worried that I am gaining weight already and that its bad (also around this time I usually wake up bc I am absolutely starving!) I havent weighed myself in two weeks so I dont know if I have gained anything yet. Every pregnancy is different and as long as you listen to your body, you should be fine.
I have a doctors appt next week so I plan on talking to him about what a healthy weight gain is for ME, since each woman is different. I think weight gain also depends on where you started weight wise in your pregnancy. If you were underweight, your body may need to gain more than someone who is of average weight. If you are still worried, I would talk to your doctor.

I'm not underweight, but I am pretty small. Maybe that's why? I'm thinking maybe I just show things a little more easily! thank you!

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I'm only 5 weeks, but also pretty small. I wouldn't say underweight, but definitely small framed. I noticed a difference in my body.
In general I'm a pretty healthy eater, but have been nauseous the last week and I decided if pasta and butter makes it better than that's what I'll eat! I'm usually good about watching my carb/sugar intake. I have gained weight and although that makes me nervous I know once the nausea goes away I'll be back to eating my normal diet and the weight will balance itself out.

Re: Changes in body really early in pregnancy?
I gained 8-9 lb 1 the 1st tri. I was very very nauseous, and I ate to keep me from vomiting (it worked - I never threw up once). I prob shouldnt have gained that much, but I did what I had to do to not get sick. I also took about a month off from the gym, so that certainly didnt help.
I didnt eat unhealthy, I just seemed to eat alot of carbs, as that settled my stomach the most. I saw a difference early on too. Yes, weight, but also my chest. I've been feeling great the past few weeks, and back at the gym and not needing to eat every couple hours. Dont worry, you will be just fine.

I wouldn't worry yet. . just keep an eye on things. . honestly in the beginning a lot of stuff can just be bloating, water retention, your intestines not working as well as they should. .

This happened to me. I was small prior to the pregnancy and gained double what I should have before 12 weeks. My doctor didn't care and didn't even want me thinking about it because she was confident the weight gain would balance out...and she was right. After week 14 I have gained the typical 1-1.5lbs a week. I have gained a lot more than most people at 26 weeks and I do not have a large belly for this stage in pregnancy...but I know what to do to lose it afterwards and will just have to do it to get back to where I am most comfortable.
