Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
What are you using for a changing table? What other pieces of furniture do you have for DC room? It seems from our last DC many of the changing table dressers now have hutches on them. We simply want functional furniture that we can use for a long while...

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
We have a crib, a small armoire and a regular changing table. It has 2 shelves underneath and I use the top one for diapers and the bottom shelf for his books.

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
We bought a dresser with a hutch that could be used as a changing table while we need one. I always say that if I had to do it over again, I would get a separate changing table in addition to the two dressers we have for DS. The piece we have has gotten beaten up from using it as a changing table... and it was not cheap furniture! It makes me so upset!

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
In DD's room we have her crib, that will go to a toddler, to a big girl bed.
A big armoire with 3 drawers underneath.
A dresser changer/hutch
All the furniture can and will be used for her big girl room and for a VERY long time.

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
We never got a changing table. It is easier to change DS on our bed or the floor.

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
we have a changing pad on DS's dresser. He also has a crib, armoire, and glider in the room. His furniture is real nice so that will be his furniture when he gets older too

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
I don't get why people buy changing tables... IMO they're a waste when you can just get a regular dresser that will grow w/ your child and screw a changer top to it! That's why we did with DD and will do again w/ this DC.

Re: Changing Table - Nursery Furntiure questions
we have a changing table that we got from a WONDERFUL woman on the buy/sell/swap thread and it's a GODSEND.
it houses all wipes, diapers, creams and on the shelves below - we have socks, shoes, headbands, burp cloths, spare wipes (bought a HUGE box of wipes), toys to entertain WHILE on the changing table and a TON of other stuff. If we didn't have it - i have no idea where this stuff would go! We use it for literally every diaper change!
we also have a dresser, a crib and a small bookshelf.
eta: i have a VERY bad back and dave is 6'4 - so there was no changing her on the floor all the time, or using a dresser - it would've killed Dave's back to do that!
